Aerosoft Flight Simulator 2012, one step closer (but not there yet) Friday, 02.10.2009

Been a tough week.  After the Conference last weekend (big success in every possible way), we needed a few days to get all the hardware back our offices and connected, some of us had car troubles and were offline a few days unexpected. So forgive us for being not too active with news this week. All is back on schedule now and we got some good news for you. First of all about a possible new simulator. You know we had several meeting about this over the weekend and we promised to give you some more details. Well we are still not saying it is 100% sure but for sure we made great progress towards Aerosoft Flight Simulator 2012 (that title is provisory for now btw). A lot more pieces are in place now and we are officially investing money in it now. So from a plan it has grown into a project. And we all invite you to give your comments!

Rise of Flight demo. get shot down for free! Friday, 02.10.2009
Aerosoft is not what it used to be. We used to do add-ons for Flight and Train Simulator but these days we are releasing many different simulators (as long as they are serious we handle them!). Take for example Rise of Flight, one of our best selling products for good reasons. One thing that was missing for Rise of Fligth was a good demo version but we got one now. You can see why tens of thousands of simmers are already flying this great sim with the demo that is now available. When you decide to move from the demo to a full version you only need to insert the new account data and the many kills you made in the demo are saved. Now your only problem is that Fokker on your six, that’s me and you are about to become a lawn dart.

7th German Flight Simulator Conference Thursday, 24.09.2009

This weekend we'll meet our friends at the Paderborn-Lippstadt during the 7th German Flight Simulator Conference. If you are somewhere near that location we sure would appreciate a visit. This year it will be a bit bigger then other years, with more space and more things to do. For example our Kai Tak Airport landing competition where you can win prices every hour. One side effect of the conference is that our support on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be limited as most of our staff is busy with the show or the travel to and from the event. So we ask you for a bit of patience.

The release of the box including the FSX and FS2004 version is scheduled for the 29th of October 2009. If applicable owners of the previous version can save money by using our CD-Upgrade-Service. Nizza Côte d'Azur X and German Airports 3 - Bremen X updated Tuesday, 15.09.2009
Nice X and German Airports 3 - Bremen X have just been updated to version 1.01. Nice had some problems with flickering textures and was missing traffic on Rwy 22R. Both issues have now been solved. Bremen had a problem with the ground altitude in the north west that caused problems. Our bulldozers solved that problem. You will find both updates in the FAQ's / Updates section on our webpages. Note you need to log on and register your products before you see the updates.

Monastir X released Saturday, 12.09.2009
Already mid September, where has the summer gone? At least we can keep in the spirit with Monastir X, one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Northern Africa. It's a great looking airport, with a typical layout of an airport that has to handle a real peak during certain months. It's well merged with the surrounding landscape, fully covered with AES 2.04 and comes with everything you expect in a modern scenery project for FSX. Good value for money as well!

US Cities X: New Orleans released Wednesday, 09.09.2009
We're pretty busy this week, this is our third release and we got one more planned! At this moment you'll be able to find US Cities X: New Orleans online. After Indianapolis and San Francisco we gone south and followed the Mississippi to New Orleans. Like the others in the series it is a product that is somewhere between the high end city scenery like Manhattan X and the default FSX scenery. Ideally suited for helicopter flights between the 5 included heliports. It's a great product and priced very competitively. We love the paddle steamers on the river!

Airport Enhancement Services 2.04 released Tuesday, 08.09.2009

We got new scenery products so we had to have a new Airport Enhancement Services right? Now we do and it's already version 2.04. Besides the new airports covered (Aerosoft Monastir X, Nice X, Tegel, Luebeck and Luxembourg plus many airports by FranceVFR) there are also improvements in the gate menu so you can see what status all the services are in at that moment. Much requested feature that. As always, AES is free to try!

And while we are talking about AES, do vote for it at the simFlight Awards would you?

7th German Flight Simulator conference Tuesday, 08.09.2009

Last weekend would have been the date for the AVSIM conference that was planned in Dayton. We all know this was unfortunately cancelled and many people saw that as a sign of the time. We did not agree and are happy to announce that we had to increase the floorspace for our yearly conference by 50% to handle all the stands. We also expect a record number of visitors as we got so much to show (not only for FS btw, how about Rise of Flight, World of Subway, City Bus Simulator just to name a few). But we got room for you, so do come and join us.

German Airports 3 : Berlin Tegel released (FS2004) Monday, 07.09.2009

It’s not often we do airports that are about to close (Read more here) but Berlin-Tegel Otto Lilienthal Airport is an exception. This is the main airport of Berlin and with close to 15 million passengers in 2008 it’s not a small one. It has a distinguished history with the Berlin Airlift without a doubt as the highlight. An important airport that belongs in your German Airports 3 collection. Continuing in the tradition of the German Airport Series, the airport Berlin-Tegel "Otto Lilienthal" is featured with its latest and up to date layouts, buildings, objects, runways, taxiways, lights, and navigation aids. Just like the real life airport. A high definition aerial photograph has been used for ground texturing making the airport and its surroundings seem absolutely realistic. Even with this whole range of objects, details and features, the framerates remains excellent.
